Christine
Nicklos, San Francisco, Ca., drawing
Sometimes our lives are lonely,
empty and lack meaning. I create art primarily to fill the voids
in my life and help make sense of things, it’s a kind of
therapy; I hope to connect with people through my work and
enrich their lives, perhaps providing a little therapy too.
I incorporate nature as subject matter in most, if not all of
my work; it allows me to express myself in a very honest, pure
and almost primitive way. I have always turned to nature to help
me feel more peaceful, grounded and connected to the world. As
a child I remember escaping to my grandma’s garden and forgetting
time and trouble while I played. It will always be a source of
strength and inspiration, giving me the freedom and courage to
explore new ideas, thoughts and emotions in my work.

choose various kind of subject in my work such as : woman, friends, child, pain, hope
and some other messages and works found in my works .somtimes I
say lines and color them in my work.I consider colors as my language
to communicate with the spectator or the viewer who likes to follow
my works sometimes I use some soft colors and some other time I
use some wild exciting color, but sometimes I use only white and
black color in the same piece of work which I send a messge say

Firyal Al-Adhamy, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, painting
Iam an Iraqi/ British artist, born in Baghdad,
living abroad for the last 35 years with my husband and three adult.
My latest exhibition"Postcards from Mesopotamia" was inspired
by my reaction to the tragic looting of the Baghdad Museum in 2003.
my immediate impulse is a colourful interpretation of the ancient
history of my country in this tumultuous time.
I took up art some twenty years ago, always drawing my inspiration from cultural
artifacts and history. My work can be seen either in the form of original paintings
or limited edition prints sold throughout the Middle East and UK. I have participated
in many joint shows, both in London and Arabian world.

where I try to tell stories inspired by Iraqi poets. Stirred emotions
and memories play an important role during the painting process.
I also paint portraits and depict historical Iraq. Since 1998,
I've been involved with several art shows that were held in Montreal. |
