If you are inspired to participate in any way listed below or in another way I haven't thought of yet let me know.

  • Become a participating artist
    If you are a Bay Area woman artist and would like participate, sign up here . The idea is to have Bay Area women artists sharing with Bay Area Iraqi women artists and women artists living in Iraq. Give us material to post on the website and come to an event. We encourage you to bring a presentation of your work to share.
    Artists can be painters, poets, musicians, potters....you name it.

  • Recruit artists
    • Help find participating artists, direct them to the website and invite them to sign up.

  • Help make presentations
    • Coach artists on making slides and or jpgs. Are you a presentation buff? Like to set up slide shows, and sound systems? Do you know Power Point?

  • Represent an Iraqi woman artist (living abroad ) and their art
    • Make or help make a presentation from images and words from an Iraqi artist who cannot be present to share her own work at an event in the Bay Area.

  • Find an Iraqi Art Historian
    • This would be so amazing to have someone willing to share what they know of Iraqi Art from long ago and up through the ages

  • Make a donation towards the book
    Once there are enough participating artist and written material a book will be published. At least 500 copies will be devided between the United States and Iraqi's abroad.

  • Find a Publisher
    • The plan is to publish a book of participating artists

  • Find a translator
    • The book will be in English and Arabic.

  • Find a venue for an event
    • With the response that the project has solicited in a short time, I imagine we may need a larger space then a living room to have our first meeting. If you have any ideas and want to do some leg work, let me know and dive in.

  • Submit to the blog
    Post what you are thinking about the project and what it means to you.


  • Email some jpgs of Iraqi art to decorate the blog and this website
    If it isn't your art, get permission to have it up on this website before you send jpgs. Include the name of the artist.

  • Email any ideas to make this project an amazing success!

  • Find a caterer for an event
    I for one, would love to have some Iraqi treats

  • Help write a grant proposal
    I am having so much fun with this project that I would love to see it keep going. Wouldn't it be great if this project took off and people were paid to work it, caterers could be paid, sound people could be hired, movies could be made, plane tickets could be bought to bring over Iraqi artists and then we all got so inspired that we had a branch of the project revolving around getting to know other cultures until we all had one big happy art sharing party, our friends and family would come and share in our sharing......... the world could be awesome.
